If you are building a computer case and/or controller with loud fans generating a lot of turbulence and noise, what method do you use to reduce said noise?

Foam insulation (for car sound systems) will do the trick, but if the fans are standard PC case fans, you can pick up some really quiet ones off of newegg.com*
May I recommend: Newegg.com - ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan
These are the best, most reliable, quietest fans on Earth. If you buy any other 80mm fan, consider your money wasted. Save yourself a bunch of $ and just buy 3 or more.
Yep, I second the "quiet" fans. A good fan supplier catalogue should list the dB sound levels of each fan. Also, it is common for low CFM fans (lower air flow rate) to be quieter as they run as a lower RPM and lower power.
