Hi, What is the best way to mount all my electronics. I would like to put my power supply, smothstepper and motor drivers all together in a single box to be neat. However I am not sure if the pulsing power from the power supply and the motors will give me problems in my smooth stepper? Also is it better to put my motor driver close to my motor and run longer signal wires or is it better to run longer power lines to my motor and a shorter signal line? Thanks for the help! |

| I recently repaired a commercial machine that had the controller box mounted low on one end of the 14 foot long machine. Inside the control box there were 5 stepper drivers, 2 for X, 1 for Y, and 2 for the 2 Z axis (dual spindles), in a row across the upper part of the 24" by 24" box. In the lower part of the box from left to right was the 2 power supplies, one for the controller computer board, and the other for the stepper drives. Outside the box were the 2 VFD spindle drives. All the wiring for the motors and the spindles traveled to the far end of the machine (14 feet away) and to the motors and control panel there. The Y axis and Z axis cabling actually made a total of more than 28 feet of run as it also went through the cable carrier as well, and the Z axis cables went through an additional 6 feet of cable carrier across the gantry. The problem with the machine was a burned motor connector on the Y axis stepper driver. Replaced the connectors on the stepper driver board and the cable end and they were back in operation. |

| Yep would like too mount drivers & power supply's all in one box with a cooling fan built in. Could the power supply's interfere with the drivers & breakout board if they were too close. Cheers Riche. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
