Newbie- HF spindle and VFD with transformer?

Is it possible to use a 110v to 220v transformer to power a VFD for a HF spindle? Is there any issues or power loss with it?

I have a 1.5kw chinese spindle and the VFD is 220v single phase in and 3 phase out.

If I can, how to calculate the KVA ammount of this transformer?

I will have to do so much work to get a 220v outlet to the place that my machine is that I bet it will be cheaper to get a transformer...

I would suggest using a 2KVA minimum.

Will the spindle work and behave the same as if it wans't wired in a transformer?

When the transformer is sized correctly there is no noticeable difference.
