If you look at the spec sheet for any of the Heidenhain encoders/scales, it give a suggestion for subsequent electronics.
Whether it be for the 5vTTL, 11µa, or 1v p/p.
For the 11µa it shows a op amp RC4157.

How can I convert the old Heidenhain 11µApp to a 5vpp square wave?
I have build a new encoder readout for my old Micron mill. But the PIC microcontrollers can only read 5vpp square wave. So how do i convert this old 11µApp encoder signal to something usefull?

or you can buy a hiedenhain "EXE" box; they accepted 11ua input and converted that ti 5v TTL output. They also mutliplied the input counts by 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 too.
Try ebay. I have one or two laying around if you want to make me an offer![]()
