Capacitor testing question????

I have a circuit board that has 2 poly radial 100v caps next to each other of same value. I tested each one for cont., one gets a reading and the other doesn't. Then I tested all the caps on the board and most get no reading and I think about 2 or 3 do. Am I wasting my time on the caps while they are on the board or should I take them out?

You didn't mention the value? Also you cannot check capacitors in circuit.
If testing larger values such as electrolytic's on ohms scale, the meter will indicate a reading as the cap charges off the meter.
A reverse reading will show when reversing the leads.
The bottom line is, a resistance meter is not a conclusive test for capacitors, unless they show a short or low resistance condition.
