Intelligent counter

THANKX GUYS MY ALARM SYSTEM WORKS GREAT!!! Now my boss is asking to do all kinds of stuff. So now he wants me to work on another machine so that when it is now runing a yellow light flashes. I can do this but he wants some sort of counter that not only logs how many times a day the machine sits unused but also logs the time at when it sits unused,so he can track what shifts are not running it and how long it sits unused.

Does anyone know of any hardware that has this capabilities or do I have to integrate a PLC for this? And it would really impress them if I could make it email it to them once a week via a Wi Fi connection.
