Just use the built in port. I've only read of one person in 8 years frying their PC, and it was due to serious miswiring issues.
If you're really worried, buy a spare motherboard for $20

Hello, I am new to all things cnc so please bear with me. I have been posting here and have been receiving a lot of great help. I have a Dell GX620 SSF and have read that I should put a separate parallel printer port card in it so in case something goes wrong the card will be blown and not my whole system? I found a cheap card on ebay (link below), but don't know if it's up to par? Any suggestions are appreciated, THANK YOU!

Thanks, hopefully I won't need to, and hope I don't make it number two! Good news then, thanks again
