| I am going to build a DC unregulated power supply. Came across an old post where Kipper attached a link to. http://www.k7mem. This seems to be a good calculator for the uneducated like myself. Started with the 12V 8A transformer I have and plugged in the numbers and came up with about 17VDC, which would work fine for me. Not sure about the recommended bridge rectifier, it calls for 16A 35V. I found a couple of rectifiers in my junk drawer one is 15A 100V the other is 25A 100V. Would either of these work for my PS? I know that a rectifier doesn’t cost much, I do recycle when possible. I would like to thank you in advance for your continued cooperation. |

| Either would work, but go with the 25A to be on the safe side if you already have it. The 16A rating most likely has a safety factor built in. Al.
