Power supply and things that I don't understand

Sorry on bad english....

Since this is my first post I would like to say that this forum and people that are gathering here are just super ultra great....
Thanks on that....

I have 4 of these power supplies, tried searching net but can't find answers to this questions.

Why this power supply have two -V and +V instead of one?
Wtf is that -S +S stands for?
In the device where they have been they where connected like in the last picture,
so -V with -S and +V with +S that are in the same column are short connected with little sheet of metal and with wire short connected with -V
and +V in the middle. Why is that like that?

Are thees power supplies ok with putting them in series to get double voltage and in to parallel to combine current?

Hope you will understand this and thanks....

The -S and +S are remote sense terminals, this is implemented where very long power runs exist, a volt drop can be experienced at the load end.
In this case, the links should be removed from +V -V and +S & -S and a pair of wires are run in parallel to the other two to the load, if a volt drop is sensed by these two conductors, then it will increase the source voltage to compensate.
For short runs or if not used, then the terminals are jumpered as shown.
The two V- and two V+ are most likely common terminals, test this with a meter for continuity between the two for 0 ohms.
Personally I would not parallel switching supplies, Maybe series, but only as a last resort.
You will notice that the DC common was connected to Earth Ground in its previous usage.

Thanks for fast reply....

Yes, the two +V and -V are common. Don't know why I didn't meter that before

So, connecting them to parallel or series are not recommended and it is better to leave - and + S not connected to anything? Right? Didn't catch that just right?

No, if you are not using the S remote sense feature, they are normally jumpered over locally to their respective +v -V.
Others have seriesed up switching supplies, so they may work that way in a pinch, it just not would be my preference.
