| You would probably have more luck that going lower than 50hz, split phase induction motors tend to drop out of run if the rpm/load is taken too low. Al.

| The motor inductance (coil values) and phase shift capacitance starter, are probably tuned for 50Hz, max torque..etc. So probably not - the higher frequency would result in higher 'resistance to motion'/or un-synced 'phases' |
