Hi, i have designed my "breakout board" following the designs in this topic here: linkie and i am about to make my controller board (with the brakout on it) what i want to know is if those pullups are universal, ie will they work on any setup, i think my DIR signals are active low and steps on low pulse, so it should be ok anyway, and my limits will be NC to ground... so it should be cool, but dont want to screw up £12 worth of etchant, transparantsies and developer etc if i much it up on something liek that! cheers schematic: |

| 050621-1922 EST USA bigal: 1000 ohm pull-ups should be ok. But why do you and others want to put limits and control switches at 5 v levels into TTL cirucits, and connect with long leads? Noise immunity is very poor, especially without filtering. In addition ordinary silver contacts are not good at these voltages, and silver-cadmium-oxide are much worse. Gold, gold crossbar, and reed switches are good. Better is optical isolation with higher voltages and current at the input, and filtering on the output. . |
