2/4 pole motor hitachi VFD

Hello, I am trying to hook up a Hitachi SJ200 VFD to my 3 phase motor, but there is 2 different wiring diagrams for it, a 2 pole, and a 4 pole the 2 pole is rated at 3400 RPM, and the 4 pole is rated at 1700 RPM. Which would be a better connection?

I would use the 4 pole connection, you can achieve 3400 running at 120hz.
Also the base speed of 1700 should give more torque at the lower rpm than the 2 pole setting.

Is your 3ph motor 2pole or a 4 pole motor, the wiring in the drive should/is not any different from the 2pole to the 4 pole

The only difference is to set the right parameters in the drive for what motor you have

If you are talking about you motor, that can be wired 2 pole or 4 pole then it will depend on how fast you want the spindle to run as to which way you wire it up

Don't wire the drive wrong as many on the Zone have,as you will smoke your drive if you do

I opened up the motor and there is 2 sets of U, V, and W wires. Which set is 1, and which set is 2, and do I hook up one set, and leave the other set open? that's what I am getting from the motor plate

Those connection look a little confusing?
Is there two distinct sets of three motor windings?
I am assuming that each three sets of terminals are connected inside the block across from left to right?
