We are scrapping out three 24v electric pallet jacks. The drive motors are 2.4 kw, 24v motors. An online converter shows 2.4kw = 3 hp. In their current usage, they are run at variable speeds. Is there any use for these motors to drive a spindle in a mill or lathe? What are they worth? |

| At 24v they may not offer much flexibility for spindle use. Also it would need to be determined if they are Permanent Magnet or wound field, if wound field if a series motor? Al.

| How do I check for series on a motor? |

| If wound field, there are two conductors to the field as well as two to the armature. If series connected, the two armature leads are in series with the field. Wound motors can be series or shunt, P.M. motors are always shunt type and have two armature conductors only. Al.
