Just a quick question. How difficult is it to build a standalone controller to control 3 motors on a machine? I just want to enter three measurements into the controller and it must move the three guides. I have no experience in electronics so please excuse the ignorance Willing to learn. Thanks |

| maybe use a 3 axis controller like gecko or any other makes and build a device that can just send the g-code to the controller for the measuremnts. without the use of a computer just a thought!! something like this but must have 3 values to enter Last edited by Bread_O; 05-25-2010 at 08:29 AM. |

| I have used a stand alone motion unit such as Galil 1500 series together with a Maple Sytems display similar to what you show there. Al.

| Both the DMC-1500 (now legacy) and the Maple display can be had on ebay. The instructions come with the Maple display and the Galil is programmed in the native two letter commands, and the unit runs on power up. One connects to the other via the RS232 serial port. You don't really need a G-code unit just for operator entry of position data etc. Al.
