Hello all. I know there is a way to build a rotary encoder from a steppermotor but how do i build the electronics? I want to have that encoder as MPG in a pendant for Mach3. I have a lot of steppers in my shop and i want to use steppers with 200 steps/rev. Sorry for my English. Is this the right forum for this? Best regards Per Ekdahl Sweden |

| You will only need a circuit that converts sine waves from stepper to square waves. That is simple comparator circuit with hysteresis. I saw ready schematics for that somewhere in the net but can't find it right now :P It was something like this but with input clamping to protect the opamp: http://www.ecircuitcenter.com/Circui...mp/op_comp.htm |

| I believe the zip file I loaded it uses exitation for one winding and gets output from the other? I havent tried it BTW. Al.
