Here`s a part number from http://www.digikey.com/ 425-1060-5-ND
I`m going to use these. They work with the bob campbell`s breakout
board. If your using that board here`s instructions for the wiring.
Wire a 1k resistor in series with the anode pin 3 and the +12v terminal and 2 to the gnd terminal and 1 to signal
terminal.

Here`s a pic of the wiring

Hi
I am no expert with this wiring. I just tried the photointerruptor
with my breakout board and it worked fine. There is a 1 K resistor
that I soldered to the end of the red wire. This protects the LED
inside the photointerruptor from seeing too much current. If you
don`t include the resistor the LED will burn out.

photointerruptor

Hi Don C

I don`t understand your question. Here is a doc
that shows the pin layout of the photointerruptor.

Angry photo limits

I got the limit to work but backwards. Im using a pmdx breakout board and I have the limit connected to +5 -5 and pin 11. I'm using Mach2 and it enables my drive (XYZ)axis only when you put something infront of the limit. and I only have it connected to x+

go into your limits configuration and change the "active high/low" setting...then try.

limits

Hi

I could be wrong on this point. I think Mach2 allows
you to configure a high or low for the limit. It might
be possible for you to make this work from the Mach2
software.

photo limits

under conf. there isn't limits. Under ports and pins there is but no active high low setting that I can see. and it shuts all axis down and I only have x++ checked.
Thanks
Don
