| A friend scored a Rockwell band saw. The motor is a Westinghouse AC single phase 1750rpm. Serial # 7152120 and another # 579035. There are two holes with two wires coming out of each hole. There is a set of Bakelite thumb nut terminals that either set of wires reach. There are no other wires as everything after the motor is missing for electrical. no switch, no cord, no capacitor. I need to know if it needs a capacitor. Looking in the end bell I see what might be a centrifugal switch. Without tearing it apart, I can't tell if it is a brush carrier and can't see if there is a commutator on the armature. I looks like a half height AC squirrel cage motor, but never saw one with four wires. Anyone know what my friend has and how I can wire it for him? |
