I have searched the forums for my questions however I did not find any direct answer, just discussion about a type of design.. So besides over heating does anyone think housing the CPU and ATX power supply in the same enclosure as my servo drive boards, and power supply are in? The enclosure I have is a large PC server i have another computer I want to brake down and install in the same enclosure. however i don't see a reason why this can't be done but i can see there maybe some issues. anyone have any suggestions? I wouldn't see this being a problem because of the fact that if you are describing a full tower case. I beleive a harddrive would put off more heat then your drive boards and good video card would far surpass what the transformer would generate. my only concern would be the high voltage ac lines crossing what i would like to call data lines. so as long as you drag a big ac line through the whole case and minimize the length of the ac line. if there is a heat problem with the servo drives theres lots of computer related cooling device avaible on the market. |

| So here is a drawing I made on how I want everything to look in the case. I am mounting the power supply in a case that will be bolted to the outside of the enclosure, the power lines to each control card will be no longer than 3 to 6 inches, and the cable will be shielded...
