What do you mean by "dragging"
Hi Everyone,
First time posting and very new to CNC. I just started at a new position last week and my task was to "fix" the plasma table which somehow broke. After a week of reconfiguring and rebuilding the only issue I now have is one of the step motors is dragging (y-axis). Is there a way to reinstall/test the driver? I have been trying to read up on the motor but everything says not to dismantle it as it will degrade performance.
The table is 5'x10' and was made by CNC Cutting Solutions which no longer exists, therefore I cannot call them for support. Any one happen to know someone to contact from that company about support? Or how to reach the Nema manufacturer?
Thanks.

Hi ger21,
I guess I probably should have said that one motor is running slower than the other causing uneven/jolting movements and also very loud noises. I have moved the arm around when the table was not plugged in to determine if there was something on the track causing this but was unable to find anything.
At the moment I am only manually jogging the system to see how well it is performing. When I try to some code through, the table terminates the code after a couple seconds as the arm is not moving rapidly enough in the y-direction.
Hope this is a little more descriptive of my problem. Thanks.
Hi,
So I have some much updated information. I removed the motors from the table, the y-axis has left and right motors. It turns out that they are spinning the same direction and a a result the arm was having difficulty moving. Under no load the motors turn without a problem.
My question now is how to fix this? I am guessing this is more than likely a confusion from my computer signals. I am using Mach3 and was wondering if there is a setting that I could change/modify which would solve the issue. The other more simplistic thought is the serial cables from my computer to the mp3000 to the stepper controller and somewhere in the transfer the signal is getting lost or changed (not sure if that is possible).
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Brendan
Go to Config>Homing/Limits and check "Reverse" for the backwards motor.

Hi ger21,
Thank you very much for solving my problems. I had no idea that it would be so easy.
