Hello All,
I am new to this forum and hope I am posting this under the right section ("General CNC Control Software"). I have been reading allot of your post for a little while and I finally have a question worth asking (In my opinion).
I took Machining 1-4 and CNC programming 1-3 in college and I was a machinist and did some manual G-coding for 7 years (Rusty now). I had some software that came with my CNC programming book that was so simple to use and learn, unfortunately I don't have it anymore (Plus it's way outdated).
I am looking for suggestions on simple to use Cad software that is free really inexpensive? It does not have to be new, this is for personal use to design 2D drawings that will hopefully make it to a CNC machine to be cut. The primary metal I plan to design and machine will be ½” Aluminum plate.
I have been out of the game long enough that I don’t know what’s decent anymore. I just want suggestions for some good software that I can draw a design, view it in 3D and it will interactively show me how the machine is going to cut my piece that I drew.
DesignCAD was also suggested to me.
Thanks!
