suggestions?

I am new to this site. I have a stepperworld fet3 on a sherline mill using yeager automations cncpro, working under windows 98 se booted into dos.
I would like to upgrade to xp, but am uncertain if there is a program or an addon piece of hardware to use my fet3 with xp, since xp supposedly doesn't, in it's stock form, allow direct address of the parallel port.
Any ideas that don't involve leaving win 98 on the drive? Is there an easy add on box to go from cncpro in a dos window in xp, say from a usb port to the parallel port in on the fet?
