Do you have a CAM package? I use BobCAD personally for $$ reasons but even that will open dwg's and save as iges. I know visual mill is the cheapest and best working solution for anyone who encounters many different file types. It'll open anything.
how do i convert autocad 2007 dwg file to an iges file? what software do i need? any cheap solutions?

doesnt look very easy to use been messing with it for a bit. no dwg import sucks im used to useing autocad and dont want to learn a new cad program.
Never heard of it but checked out their website. They say it'll open dxf files. Can't you just save as a .dxf in autoCAD and open it up in sprutcam?
my sprutcam will not read my autocad 2007 dxf files either. i really regret buying sprutcam. very few tutorials. support sucks, very little activity in thier forum, 4th axis assignment to axis i still havent figured out after many hours and one tutorial the only on i could find on the net. i tryed to do exact same thing as tutorial and my newer version apparently doesnt work the same. i learned autocad very fast and can machine very complex parts on manual dro machines. they must have thier email filter on high because most ppl ive heard of say email support is very minimal if they get an answer at all.![]()
Did you try saving as earlier dxf formats? Try saving as a 2000 .dxf or even a v13/14. How much did sprutcam cost you?
