Unhappy Hitachi Seiki VK45 with undeletable program

We have just encountered a software glitch that has us stumped and is going to prove to be a problem.
I was copy and pasting from the background edit screen and when I went to paste in the normal edit screen the machine has "write protected it".

That is everything functions as normal except that it is as if program #100 was written in the 8000-9999 range and can be outputted and read as a sub program, but will not allow it to be edited, deleted or cleared in any way.

(All other programs can be written and deleted in the normal way.)

The big problem is that it has taken a quarter of the machines memory. (Which, by the way, if you know how we can increase it we would be interested)

I have studied the manuals extensively but am none the wiser.

I would very much appreciate any help in this matter.

    Many thanks,

    Daniel

Try to see if this works!
1.Back up all your N/C programs make sure you have all of your 8000&9000's
2.Go to Edit mode type in ODF Input. This will delete all of your programs. I can not remember if you have to be in Edit mode, Program mode, or Program mode with Program list pulled up.
3.Delete program #100 from the file you downloaded using your computer
    4.Reload all of your programs

How much memory do you have in the machine now? I believe that I have a procedure somewere that will bring it to 160m without hardware addition.

Good luck let me know if that works.

    Absolutly brilliant.
Thank you very much. (You have really made my day.)

If you could find your info on increasing the memory size, that would be very much appreaciated also.

    Thanks again Stevo1.

Your welcome. Glad I could help.
I will try to dig that procedure up when I get time.

Just for the record what mode did you have to be in when you did the ODF? Was Edit mode correct?

    Hi Steveo1,
Yes, you had to be in Edit.
I have just got to work and have not yet woken up yet, but if it is of any interest, this is our web site.
