like artCAM software

Is there any software that is very much like artCAM but cheaper or doesn't require the dongle? My university only has one copy becuase this manufacture doesn't want to give us a site licence but charge the $4,000 some dollars per seat. I just need to have the ability to make g-code from my AutoCAD files, set the tool depth, cutter size, and stock size, etc. All features of Art CAM Insignia specifically.
