Check with the person doing the machining. It also may depend on how you modeled the part. Solids? or meshes?
Please bear with me, I am a complete newb when it comes to machining so I hope I posted this in the right place.
I am currently drawing a part that I need made in Autocad in 3D model space. Is there a way to save this or export it so that a machininst can use it to machine the part. This way it saves the machinist time (i.e. they do not have to completly redraw the part in something else)
Hopefully I will be able to do this stuff from my garage but for now I have to pay to get it done and what ever makes it cheaper on my part the better.
Thanks for any and all help.

What software do they use to program from? Most cad cam software excepts many different formats, but IGES(international graphic exchange system) seems to be the most common .
