not ready on fanuc is nearly always an external estop. link out the estop circuit as a test to see if it powers up.
I have been working on a Makino MC1210 mill with a Fanuc 6M-B Controller that our company recently purchased. I set up a RS232C comm link between it and the controller and everything was fine. Programs would download and upload. This controller had only 32K of memory and I got into a situation where I needed to be able to drip feed larger programs. I purchased a BTR software kit and connected and loaded the program and everything seemed to be running OK with the CNC off. When I turned the CNC on I could not get out of jog mode to get into tape mode. I saw that the controller had executed its startup routine up to system not ready. The maintenance flow chart indicates that this is due to emergency stop signal is extended up. All e-stops are up and seem to be functioning properly. Any ideas what I have done wrong?

I did trace the circuit out and found that I had the Z-axis overtravel limit switch open. I shorted out that switch and was able to get the E-stop circuit to work. Anyway the NC went through its startup routine and I came up with the positioning screen. However now I am locked up in jog and I can't move off the limit switch to clear the fault. I am presently checking the servo motor circuits.
Thanks again for the help. If you have seen the problem of jog being frozen and not letting you into handle or MDI please respond.
