    Cutting threads with sprectra light

I am a shop teacher just getting into this CNC. I have written a thread cutting program using spectra cam. Everything verifies but when I go to run the program the spindle kick on and the bit moves into the X coordinate but will not move on the Z axis. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Jack

I think you need a spindle encoder so that the control software will know how fast the spindle is turning. The Z axis has to be advanced in relation to the speed of the spindle.
