About best and easy CAD software...

Hi, I'm new in this forums so I hope that this will help me. I'm also starting with CNC machines in my shop, I just bought a CNC lathe and I do not know much yet.
I want to ask if somebody could recommend me one good and easy CAD software to make the designs and then pass them to the lathe which has a Fanuc control.
Somebody recommenended to me that I should get solidworks or mastercam. What do you think?

If your lathe is a simple two axis X&Z I wouldn't bother with it...Learn the Canned cycles they're pretty easy to learn and would take care of almost everything you need...,unless you have live tooling , I'm partial to mastercam kind of pricey though....another one that's good for the price is geopath...and maybe a little easier to learn than mastercam.
