Hi Folks,

in a cnc mill the steppers mostly control positions.
But in fi. 3d printers, the stepper that controls the feed of plastic runs all the time after switching to "on".

How is that done?

I have studied 3d printer configurations and they seem to use g code like m108 which as far as I can tell is sort of user defined.

I've tried to find pages or help on how this is done but have had no luck.

I want to drive my 4 axis to simulate a lathe but to my amazement this seems to be virtually non existent, at least in the linuxcnc world.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
