Seriously,people,not even a single reply?
I found this old machine in a garage sale. With no software or even a manual. It is in good working order or so it seems. Let me at first say that i am a complete newbie and never before actually used cnc machine by myself. You make .stl file ,go to somebody else and he machines the part.
Italian tech support were kind and sent me the user manual, they also told me about the software that used to operate this router. The program name is CCI and as they say it runs in DOS.
Is there any hope for me to find this 15 years old DOS program or is there a way to run this machine with any other CNC controller?

Hi,
I know it along while since your posting, but I have a copy of cci for my sei 810 personel router.
Did you ever find any more up to date software that your machine would run on.
Regards,
Paul
just dont giveit up.. that machine actually looks good.. can happen it has ballscrews and in a good condition..
you migth try to figure the ""pinout"""
possible italian support will help you yet..
for next, send email to brian barker.. hes the mach3 wizard.. i believe somehow mach can be configured to drive it..
if no luck this way, then try kelinginc.. take photos about stepper motors, or get info what size of steppers are on the machine
i see very little chance it would be servo driven..
kelinginc can offer you a modern stepper driver that works with mach3.. what actually you need..
eventually you need to hook your machine motors on the new comntroller only..
very possible it is an old stepper driven machine, works with simple G code..
but first, check on if you could drive it with mach..
ArtSoft USA - Contact Us
there are many folks very skilled engineer..
Thanks for the response.
The machine won't run with mach 3 as it uses Sei's own in house language and not G code. I believe it does have steppers but all the controls seem to be integrated onto one mother board, so I would need to replace everything.
At the moment I'm still looking for a cam package with an sei post processor as it seems such a shame to gut a machine thats working fine.
I've tried the Italian manufacturer, they were good enough to send me a manual, but now ignore my e-mails.
it is ok.. already they were nice and help you..
now you can go next, try to remove covers from motors if they have.. and take picture about motor plates what shows their size and how many Amper they useing
and send picture email to kelinginc..
he going to take care on.. virtually you could solve yourself to buying parts and assembly.. but this way safer.. if you solve yourself actually you save about 2-300 but theres the risk you can burn out somethingif you were nevr made this before.. also you can ask kelinginc for future development you need the 4th axis in the controller
i just saying kelinginc, because they are long time on the market and they have already reputation..
so when money comes, you just buy a 4th axis.. on ebay about 300 quite good stuff, and use it immediately..
be careful.. it can happen it is and old system like gerber.. only artcam and aspire drive trough on some aux program.. with mach 3 you have the option for 4th axis.. this machine looks enough good to invest a new controller..
Thats not actually my machine in the photos. I just replied because I had a copy of the cci software that it runs on. Mind runs ok but the control cam software is an old dos type so not very user friendly compared with an up to date windows program.
What I'll probably due is muddle along with the system I've got until it developes a fault and theen upgrade the electrics then.
Thanks for your interest,
Paul
