Keith, I have an R2E3 and have trouble sometimes drip feeding. What are you using for software? Probably, increasing the baudrate is not the way to go if you are having trouble. The question is, are you getting an axis error from lost commands or from trouble with the axis. Is it always the same axis? Cutmore |

| Cutmore, I'm using e-link.I don't have trouble with program's unless I'm using dnc. It's not an error from a certain axis. The machine stops and wants me to home it again. I don't think it's a command because it stops in different spots in the program. Thanks for the reply. Keith |

Just a quick thought, Make sure your cable is not loose or possibly the wires frayed/broken. You probably checked that already, but it was just a thought. I would try reducing the baud rate to something like 2400 and see if the problem goes away. That will tell you if it's a communication problem. If the baud rate is too high, the computer could send the command to the bridgeport and the bridgeport could lose part of the command. Let's say the command is G54 G0 y-5, and the control lost the G54 part. The machine would possibly try to go too far and trip either a soft limit or hit a limit switch which would cause you to have to re-home. Cutmore |

The only other thing I can think of is, is the pc you are using have a network connection? Maybe somethings happening when the pc looks to the network. Other than that, I am stumped, Sorry. Try posting in the Bridgeport section if you haven't already. There is also a forum for Bridgeports on Yahoo and the practical Machinist sites. Cutmore |

| We had a Matsuura with the Yasnac mx3. Trying to feed from a brand new Epson laptop. The cnc machine was brand new also. Drove us crazy for almost a month. Machine mfg said it was us, controller mfg said it was us, computer mfg said it was us. After much ascerbic communications and much grudging help or checking from their reps turned out there was a crack in mx3 motherboard that affected only ourstide feeding. Fixed that, still didn't work. Epson reluctantly checked, guess what? crack in their motherboard. I am wondering if maybe yu have a cracked board someplace. I hope not. Fwd She |
