trying to touch off tools using a renishaw touch probe, on our cincy/lamb Hawk 250. A "probe open" alarm is generated when we run the sub to carry out the presetting. Im thinking that the probe "open" is the way that it should be, but an alarm is generated nontheless halting our attempts. Any one else ever encountered this ? |

| For some reason your probe is being tripped without being touched by a tool. Most likely a damaged cable, causing the wires inside to lose contact. I think the probes are normally closed-loop, and when the probe is touched the contact is broken (open) We've had this happed on our machines before, and it has always been a damaged cable somewhere, or a poor electrical connector. Do some investigating and you may find the problem. Good louck |
