Bosch z15 1 240

Hi People, I have a Z15-1-240V powered on 380v for the power supply and 110 0 110 for the split motor feed.

I am having difficulty controlling this.
Does anyone have info on this dated drive please.

Unhappy Interact?

Thanks gridley but not sure what an interact is.
This is a stand alone dc drive used for either x, y, or z
Controlled via 0 to 10v dc to a small dc motor with tacho feedback.
It has 2 thyristor blocks each with 2 thyristors in to allow bi directional control.

The feed to the thyristors are 110 0 110 with the center tap going to one end of the motor and the other end of the motor going to the scr blocks.

Got you.So the motor runs but you are having difficulty controlling it.In what way?
Is it running away, not reversing, going at the wrong speed or what?

Red face controlling z15

Hi Mark,
No the motor does not run just pulses when it feels like it.
Tried reversing the polarity of the supply in case it was a zero crossover firing issue.
DC ref is seen but ignored, meaning juddering on the spot until any ref voltage applied -ve or +ve then it stops.

Tim,we run these drives on Bridgeport cnc milling machines.Connected as follows:-
380 volts to L1
0 volts to L2
Enable between 1 and 3,3 is linked with a capacitor to 2
0 volts on the drive is to earth
180-0-180 volts one leg to U other to V, 0 volts to A2 on motor
D and C linked and C to A1 on motor
Tacho to 4 and 6
Speed command (0-10v) to 7 and 9.
If you have it connected like so,try changing tacho wires over.
What motor are you using?
Mark.

Red face Thanks Mark Cap?

I have this connected as the pencil drawing same as yours but the cap eludes me.
What value is the cap as the sketch shows it to have polarity!
Please correct me if I am wrong but this is 2 on the 12 way connector?

7 and 9 for control -ve to 7.
motor in use is Siemens 1HU5040-oac01
Regards
Tim

Without digging in the panel I cannot tell you the value of the cap but it is polarised and the + side goes to 3.
It doesn`t matter which way around 7 and 9 are as it will only reverse the motor direction.
How are you reversing this?

control via split supply pot

Thanks Mark.
Initially via a 10v source but later a split supply.
At the moment I would be happy for any direction!

My diagram shows the cap and its polarity but no value.
The sporadic movement may be linked with the cap depending on what it does.
Thanks again
Tim

Have you checked for tacho loss?Measure the resistance across the tacho, also switch of the power to the drive, disconnect the tacho and spin the motor by hand and see what voltage you get on the tacho leads. It will be small but you should get something. When I have had erratic behaviour with HU motors I find cleaning the tacho com with a pencil erasur cures it.You can also connect the motor direct to a 12 volt car battery when it should spin nice and smoothly. While doing that if you have a tachometer to measure the revs you can check if the speed is in relation to the input volts and you can also measure the motor tacho output to see if that matches as well.
