Joseph,
I have a few GE2000`s and know them well.Unfortunately they are all on lathes.I also have all the manuals and can`t find this error number with the description you have.
When you power up a GE2000,you press the start button and the screen should say "Power up diagnostics",the next stage is "system loading" where you can see the progress with a bar at the bottom of the screen. After the system has loaded it usually either tells you the name of the machine builder and all the serial numbers of the software and MSD or just GE2000 and all the serial numbers. After a few seconds of this the hydraulics then start up and the machine is ready to use/reference.
Where in this sequence does it halt?
When it has halted, look in the GE control and see which boards have green leds lit and which ones don`t.If you post this info some of us may be able to help.
Also with the power off, pull the boards out and reseat them, making sure that they go in the correct section of the rack. They mostly don`t have to go back in the same slots but if you look you will see different colours along the top of the rack and the extractor levers on the boards are coloured also so yellow boards go in the yellow part of the rack etc.
Mark.

hey gridley

Thnx for the reply. I have tried everything you rec. still no change. It starts loading and the loading bar does 2-3 complete move until it gets stuck so when diag. starts the control bring up error afer a couple sec. All the boards light green besides the boards which I suspect is normal becuase Idont think those are active until diag. is done, or? I have 3 extra bubble mem boards from another control and a few other ge 2000 boards if u need i can sell cheap. I come to Scotland time to time so I may be ableto drop them off. Do you think this is an dependable control? Its a pitty to scrap the machine it is an amazing machine but way to complex for me to retrofit.
regards,
J

It does the diagnostics before it starts loading. It sounds as though the diagnostics are ok but the error comes when it`s loading the software.Probably corrupted bubble memory.
The board that does not go green is usually the one with the problem. Can you post which boards are going green and which ones are not?
If you know what version of software is in the bubble memory and can get a good copy of it I can copy it to a new bubble card for you.I only have lathe software.
I have a support board which lets me read and check the bubble memory and edit the MSD.I can copy software from one board to another.
If you cannot get a good copy of the software, there is a company in England who will have it and would be able to load a memory board for you.But you would probably have to do some rewriting of the MSD.
I`m always interested in buying bubble boards and other GE2000 boards if they are ok and the price is right.I have the facility to test all boards.
Tomorrow I will watch a control while it is booting up and see what the bars signify.
I will send you PM,do you know how that works?

Hello

Thanks for all the help! It is the dio boards that dont light up and I think a tech guy told me they dont till the end of loading, but maybe you can confirm that. I do not have bub mem on this control I have ram but I bought an extra working control from a machine being retrofit this one has bub ram thats why I am selling it, I have no use for it. I have 3 boards one you can have for your time and the rest we can talk about it. I sent the backup tapes to Switz to a man that only repairs these machines and he sent them to a friend to be put on C.D. so I can load in the software and they failed to load. They went ahead and sent the braemer and the tapes back to me so i can load it myself and boom, the shipping comp lost it all! Anyway, would it be to much if I can give you a call?

I`m having difficulty getting my head around this. You have a control with no bubble memory. This must be newer than all my manuals.Originally they had at least two bubble boards, then they went to one bubble and an eprom board. From what you are saying they then dropped the bubble altogether and put the software on a chip.New to me.
The loss of the Braemar is a major blow as I have searched for one for years,
unsuccessfully.Don`t know how big a loss the tapes are as they are usually corrupted anyway.
The software can be loaded from a pc but it needs to be an old one.
You can call me anytime during working hours, the number is on my website.Link below.
