Any body have info on Biomek 1000 by Beckman Coulter

Hello,
I recently found a medical CNC machine (Beckman Coulter Biomek 1000) at a state auction. It's a 3-axis table (great shape) with a second 2" Z tool axis. It doesn't have a large working area (approximately-16"X12"X9" , but I paid very little for it.) When connected and powered up, without a PC, it will center itself so the power part seems to be working and also its feedback.

In college, we built a CNC machine as a SR. Design project. We used the L297/L298 ICs for the motor controllers and Kelly Cam software. I opened the power module for the Biomek 1000 and it has 5 separate motor controllers using the L297/L298 setups. It also has a separate controller board with many counter types of ICs. I have the option of bypassing the controller card and connecting into the L297 as I did in college but it seems the controller card may be ready to go if I knew how to talk to it. So, does anybody know anything about Beckman Coulter Biomek 1000s? It has a serial port for input. Also, Online searching suggests the software that ran the Biomek 1000 was DOS based.

Lastly, you guys might try looking for one of these too. Granted it was used to test DNA and stuff so better disinfect them before being tinkered with. I paid $25 for the power module and $50 for the CNC table.
