Hello, my controller specifies Alcaline Magnesium Dioxide batteries (AM1) and I have been told that they are just industrial grade alkaline batteries. Can someone confirm this or recommend something better. The old batteries were quite nasty and leaking acid so they should at least be better for now. cheers |

| TADIRAN part number TL-5242/W 3.6 volts HIGH ENERGY LITHUM BATTERY phone number 1-800-433-5700 or www.alliedelec.com is the dealer I purchased mine from. The Anilam controller that is in my machine had one installed. This battery comes in a case with pig tailed wire that plugged in to the computer board. Oh yes my controller also had the remains of an old battery box that was quite nasty. Someone left the junk in there<grin> Have a great day |

Hey, thanks for the reply. I should have said that I replaced the batteries with D-cells as they were the same size and voltage. I am wondering if D lithium would be better although I don't know if they exist. I will check out your link thanks |

That link showed a panasonic D-cell when I searched for AM1 as a part number for the item. I should be ok with the Alcalines that I purchased at the electronics supply but will pick up panasonic replacements if the voltage on them does not hold up. thanks |
