I've got a cnc knee mill with centroid m-400 control and was wondering who/what determines max IPM? I have a feeling my cnc's limits are set low, in fact it seems as though the servo motors aren't even getting a work out. My max cutting speed is 60 ipm and rapid is around 128. Would it hurt any to bump these numbers up a bit? As long as i stay within safe servo current draw limits and not get them too hot? Also, on a side note... Do any other centroid users use the threading cycle to cut holes instead of circular pocket cleanout? At least for holes that are less than twice the diameter of the end mill? Why doesn't centroid add this canned cycle? Seems like a simple mod to the threading cycle to cut quick holes. |
