Looking for new CAD/CAM software, suggestions....?

I am schooled in AutoCad softwares, and am relatively new to the machining industry. Currently I'm working with BobCad v20; I won't run it down here, suffice it to say I am the fourth person to attempt using this software, and have had more luck than others, but I don't think this is the one for us.
What I'd like to know is a direction to head as far as capability-comparable software. I know the pros of BCad include file/exchange compatibily, G-Code generation, and the ability to upload/download programs from different controllers. These are all great, but I need something that is better capable of the CAD side, (i.e. SolidWorks), as well as something that is less flawed, i.e. more stable, and more informative from the start. There are crucial settings and adjustments current instructions implicate, but then do not explain anywhere. Also, I need something that will communicate with our Mazatrol M32s as well as the Fanuc 21Ts, Yasnac LX3s/MX3s, etc. Much time has been poured into trouble shooting comm. errors with the Mazatrol including custom RS232 cables to no avail.
When downloading posts now, I am not sure how to tweak them to run realistically, and the book, CDs, and support are vague at best on this......
Something middle-of-the-road as far as maybe costing more, but being better laid out and as capable or more so than our current software.

Thx!

Auto,

Take a look at PartMaker.com... I'd be interested in hearing what you think.

Regards,

Try ONECNC - XR2 Professional

The good thing is it works right out of the box. No waiting for software Co. to fix it.

You may want to check out SprutCam or VisualMill.
Cad with SolidWorks or Alibre.
I use SW and VisualMill.
VisualMill has a completely new release and I have found the post processor easy to customize.
I would likely be using Sprut but they do not have full 4th capabilities (3+1).

They list Mazak PPs but I have no experience with them.

Hi

Do you need full 3D capability? We can communicate with all the mentioned controllers / machines.

Let me know if you need full 3D capability or not.
