XY2-100 protocol

I couldnt think of a better place to ask but I've been googling for ages...

I'm looking for details of the XY2-100 protocol, i believe was created by GSI for laser scanners. Despite many papers claiming it is "industry standard" I cant find any actual copy of it - i was wondering if anyone on here knows of it?

Hi Giampaolo,

The project I had in question at the time has been "paused" as I had other priorities, but the information would be very helpful for when it is "unpaused" if you have any hints or tips? I went through countless manufacturers sites and even emailed each and every tech support email I could find but no-one could supply it - I was wondering if it is legally protected in some manner, due to the lack of replies?

Thanks!
James

Hello james...

I've some timing diagram... not much but I think it could be a start...
I can send you a paper if you give me your mail.

BTW, there is also an open source project at
http://code.google.com/p/musayyib/
but it seems not yet started and I was not able to contact the maintainer

see you

Giampaolo

XY2-100

I am the maintainer for the Google Code XY2-100 project. I'm not going to pursue it as I am not using commercial servo boards for the galvos. I'm implementing servos on a FPGA, so I have no need for XY2-100.

That being said, I am more than happy to help out as much as I can with any other projects. I am currently a controls engineer for a laser manufacturer and am very familiar with the XY2-100 pseudo-standard.

Please feel free to email me - justin dot princess at princesstoolcompany dot com.

I'm not sure how often I'll visit this forum, but I'll try to contribute where needed.

XY2-100

Hello All,

if somebody needs a copy of the XY2-100 specification I can provide it.

I have also designed 2/3 Channel Receivers 16 bit serials to drive the galvanometers servo amplifiers.

Also, if you need assistance with the design of a servo then feel free to contact me at josephbonilla at gmail dot com

Thanks,

JB
