Hard Drive Replacement

Hi Neal,

I can't speak for the UK but here in the USA you can just call Anilam and their Tech Support department is excellent and could help you with your problem. You will probably have to reload the Paramaters. They can send them to your via e-mail with directions on how to format your new drive for use with your system.

If you can't get any help in the UK and can stand the telephone bill just send me a PM and I will give you a contact person and phone number to call in the USA.

John

Buy me a Beer?
An old post, but has anyone succeeded in cloning the hard drive on this machine?
Al.

Before you give up on the hard drive check the power supply voltages. The HD has yellow (12 VDC) and red (+5 VDC) wires for power. Black is 0V. If voltage is low then the computer does not boot properly and it looks like a HD failure. I just went thru this on my 5300 MK.

If you have an older PC then try hoking up your dead HD and see if it is actually OK. Mine came up fine and my PC indicated only that the motion board was missing.

You also could have a bad battery for CMOS memory.

Jerry at Analam has an excellent sheets with instructions for resetting the CMOS data and also for checking and adjusting power supply voltage. If the power supply is bad and won't adjust then Google the part number off the supply. One company does fixed rate repair for $30.

I had the same problem with my 3300 but i thouight my hard drive was gone but it was just an adjustment on the power board I had to increase the 5 volt it was reading 4 volts at the hard drive power plug in. This is done by a pot adjustment on the side of the power supply board.
