I have no idea if this is the right forum or not but, i am using mastercam 8 (yes i know its old), but for some reason it stareted giving me an error message today when i try to post my file to a floppy. the error message is: Error: C-hook not found
c:\mcam\chooks\MP.dll
any help on this would be great.

Somehow the dll file you are looking for got moved or deleted. Contact your dealer they should be able to get the file for you.

if i reload a newer version of mastercam will all my files still be there or will i have to redraw all of them?

Yes all of your files will still be there and all the way up to X2 has the ability to open up V8 Files.
