Microkinetics/Sherline Plead for Help! | |
Hello to everyone!! 
I am a newbie to the whole cnc thing, but not to macining. I have been in the hobby for about 6 yrs now. I got interested in CNC stuff and got lucky enough to find a sherline mill and lathe for a great price. I am in the process of taking a CNC class now and LOVE IT !!! I am Overwhelmed with all the choices of possible software and hardware. The machines are Microkinetics based conversions, but I only have the software for the lathe unfortunatly. Is it possible to use other software, such as mach 3 with the board I already have? I was thinking of dumping the drive hardware and converting everything the mach 3 software, gecko drive set up? I am not sure which way to turn. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! I am pretty much lost and need some help. THANKS TO ALL THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS SITE.
