I haven't yet built the machine, so that probably is my problem. But, I've downloaded and/or bought Rhino3d/MadCAM/Mach3 and can't seem to find the answer to a very obvious question: How does the CAM software know the dimensions of the rough stock I am milling the parts from? MadCAM seems to just generate a cube around your model and assumes that the stock is going to just fit the part. I want to work in wood. Where do I tell the software what the block I'm cutting from actually measures and where on the block I want it to cut? Again, sorry about such a basic noob question. The answer is probably obvious, but sometimes when you are working something out by yourself you just blank on things. |

| I've never use MadCAM, but the stock size is specified in the CAM program. poke around some more and you should find it somewhere in MadCAM. Does it have a help file?
