whats the differance between mach2 & mach3

I purchased a K2 router and it was supposed to come with mach3 and came with mach2.

Whats the differance? Will 2 allow me to surface machine?

If you have a license for Mach2, it will work with Mach3. Mach3 is Mach2 with 2 additional years of development and added features. You can install both on the same computer, as long as you don't try to run both at the same time.

Start by printing out a copy of the "Using Mach 3 Mill" from the Artsoft web site. There is a wealth of information in there.
Artsoft also has a couple of on line videos you can watch for configuring a machine this will help also.

I did both and still had questions. I posted on this forum asking if anyone was in my town, I found someone and talked to them over the phone and cleared up my misconceptions on my setup in just a few miinutes.

Talking to a person who has been there, done that is very helpful. You can ask multiple questions questions at one time rather than doing posting after posting. However don't burden then too much.
Many people enjoy helping as you can see by this forum the difference is they post and reply at their convience.
