I'm new to this forum and CNC in general. Seems like there are afair number of decent, inexpensive CNC control software packages for 2.5 -3 axis control of router tables and mills. I'm particularly interested in if any of these would work to control a tangential head afbric cuter that uses a rotary "pizza wheel" type knife. Your'e basically looking at standard 2.5 axis router type set-up + a rotary head to keep the pizza wheel cutter tangent to the curve (or in-line with the incremental straight line segment cuts, if you will). Z-axis control is dirt simple - basically a "pen up/pen down" operationlike a pen plotter. The couple of control software packages I've come across specifcally for fabric are in the $3000 -$4000 price range. Thanks, krumly |

| Mach3 can do the tangential control, but If I recall correctly, arcs need to be converted to short straight segments for it to work correctly. www.artofcnc.ca
