| When G41 is active, is it possible to cancel with G40 and move to the point which is the centre of the tool without the tool moving from the last G41 command? Also the reverse senerio where G40 is active and then activate G41 and move to the point which is tangent to the cutter diameter and the tool dosen't move? |

| The simple answer is no. In almost all controls, a linear move must be executed during application or cancelation of compensation. To get a little more complicated: If you program your path at the center of the tool, and only use the compensation for tool wear or deflection, the move required can be very small. I always recommend using this method. If you are programming with workpiece dimensions and using compensation to adjust for the tool radius, you will see some odd things from time to time.
