Heidenhain programming problems

I am currently trying to connect to my TNC using TNCremoNT with windows xp and haven't had much luck. I have never done this before so it may be something simple. From the machine I have matched the baud rate of my TNC360 control (9600) with the config on the software. I set the control to "EXT" mode and set the computer to "Send ME Mode". The programs will not connect, however when I go into TNC Server it idles with "waiting for request". I select a G-code program labeled 123.I and insert it into the server application. On the TNC I go to EXT and type in the program name "123". The file appears to be transferring over (the progress bar on the server application moves) but when it finishes my TNC will just lock and I have to hit a few buttons to get out of it. The program appears to be lost somewhere in ctberspace. Is there something I am forgetting here?

Thanks in advance.

Heidenhain TNC RemoNT

Might be helpful knowing what machine/control you have. Most older controls require RS-232 communications and most laptops are USB to Serial communications. I have found many USB simulators do not work with the Heidenhain products. There is one USB-RS232 device which is readily available and works with Heidenhain, and it can be bought for around $50 at Radio Shack. Try using this cable. And while in TNCRemoNT, go to Extras tab and make sure you are set to LSV communications and a correct COM port once you set up the Radio Shack device. If you are still stuck, call me at 216-619-2675 and I will try to help you over the phone.
