I am new to the cnc world (milling) and would like to get a conversational software program. We borrowed Autocad and all I can tell you is forget it. I have heard of two, Bobcad, either the v19 or v20 or another much less expensive one called Kipware. Does any one know much about either and would anyone recommend one over the other. Like I said previously, this is all new to me. Thanks. |

BobCADCAM is not conversational software. Kipware is conversational software. G Zero is a language based CAM program that is very powerful and well thought out. It's not cheap. www.g-zero.com I wish there were more G Zero users on the net and that G Zero had a Web Forum on CNC Zone. Perhaps Rapid Output should be approached about this possibility ? jon "I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them." ... Jimmy Hoffa |

Thanks for the feedback. I did realize that bobcad was nto converstaional, but thought that it was not as complicated as autocad. we checked out teh g-code site and it to is very interesting. any chance, you have a ball park $ for the milling portion? thanks again. |

| Imo, BobCAD is much more complicated than AutoCAD, but I use AutoCAD. AutoCAD just does drawing and modeling. BobCAD/CAM aill also create your g-code.
