Newbie here. I have been doing some lurking and have a question. I have inherited an old spectralight mill. I have the tools to get going (everythings seems to be there, incluing the old MAC), but am looking for the software (Spectralight control program) to run the machine. I can't find it anywhere. Am wondering if anybody has any leads on where to get it. Light MAchines does not have it anymore. The manual is 15 years old. And they do not support this. They suggested that I convert. I would like to try my hand at this before I commit money to it. Thanks for any help you can provide. Mark |

| I'm looking at a spectralight Mill Control V5.21 disk in my hand. I could email you the files if you want. I just opened it on my computer and it seems to work fine. I just borrowed the machine from a buddy of mine to see if I could get it running. I'm missing the interface though. Any idea on where I could get that? |

| Why try to get old software or interface to run old dos programing if you can find them. Search this site and make a power suppy and add new stepper motors using gecko 202 drives. Use a Campbell designs breakout board and connect to a computer by parrallel port. Then download Mach 3 as the interface between the mill and or lathe and run Windows 2000 or XP. You can take advantage of the new Cad and cam programs as well. Frank |

I just purchased one of those Spectralight 0400 turning centers and I also purchased a 3 axis motor controller from www.easy-cnc.com Do you have any information about the type of stepper motor that is used on those machines. What the wiring color code is etc.? Who makes the stepper motor, what the model number is? I plan to use Mach3 or maybe EMC2 as the controller software. |
