i've been using ug nx 4 for programming. i've been facing a problem with the software. 1. i dont know why the software generates program of high space even for small components. for example, if we program for a 200x200x200 black in which there is a cavity of 20mm depth to be milled and lets suppose it runs only for about 15mins, it generates a program of about 2mb or more. i dont know why. most of my machine can accomodate less than 2mb of space. 2. can any one help me please how to limit the co-ordinates upto 3digits after decimal. |

| Sounds like you need to edit the Post Processor. In post builder you can control the number of decimal places. You an also add a custom command to combine rotary moves.

| dear john, thanks for your suggestion. is it possible minimize the size of the program . to be specific, i get programs with large sizes, i don't know why. and i cannot load them into my cnc milling machines. my machines can take only up to 2mb. |

| There are several ways to make the program smaller. Most machines do not need N numbers for each line of the program. Remove them from the post. Remove Leading zeros. Change the G code output for example on Most machines G01 and G1 are the same thing. Use Sub programs for duplicate tool paths. If all else fails once you get the tool into position at the start of a cut switch to incremental mode. At the end of the cut revert back to absolute mode. This works well for surface contouring tool paths. Or Buy more memory for the machine.
